The Whitsundays Writers Festival is delighted to unveil another captivating addition to its esteemed speaker line-up, as internationally acclaimed author Sally Hepworth to host a delightful high tea book club event at My Rainbow Bakery, nestled along the picturesque shores of Shingley Beach.
Renowned for her New York Times bestselling novels, Sally Hepworth has captured the hearts of readers worldwide with her compelling storytelling. With nine novels under her belt and over a million books sold globally, including her latest masterpiece, Darling Girls, Hepworth’s literary prowess knows no bounds.
Festival President Karen Jacobsen expressed her excitement for the upcoming event, stating, “Weare thrilled to welcome Sally to our Festival’s Big Book Club High Tea. She is a talented author, and the event promises an afternoon filled with insight into her journey to literary success, including the exciting adaptations of her works to screen.”
The inclusion of Sally Hepworth further enriches the Festival’s stellar line-up, which already features distinguished authors such as Shankari Chandran, the 2023 Miles Franklin Literary Award winner, and renowned crime author Garry Disher.

The Festival’s Big Book Club High Tea will be held 3:15pm-4:45pm Saturday 7 September at My Rainbow Bakery, where many local book clubs have met over the years. Sally will select some of her books to discuss and attendees will know well in advance of the event.
As anticipation builds for the Festival’s return after a seven-year hiatus, attendees are encouraged to confirm their travel and accommodation early. Details of the Festival’s tickets and how to purchase will be announced in March.
