2025 Program Highlights
3 Day Festival Pass Includes:
Day 1 Friday 12 September commences at 6:15pm with our Official Opening by Mayor Ry Collins, a welcoming drink and canapes, followed by Love Letter to Queensland, an evening featuring a stimulating lineup of notable speakers, each presenting their own love letter to Queensland, and then a special treat, a Lovesong to Queensland written and sung by WWF president Karen Jacobsen. Speakers to be announced.
Day 2 Saturday 13 September begins with the From the Heart: Annual Festival Address followed by Author Interviews and Panel Discussions at the Whitsunday Sailing Club 9:00am-2:30pm; followed by our Big Book Club High Tea 3:15pm – 4:45pm at the Rainbow Bakery, and Poetry Karaoke Sundowner from 5:00pm – 6:30pm at Whispers Bar.
Day 3 Sunday 14 September includes Author Interviews and Panel Sessions 9:00am-12:00pm and our Local Author Long Lunch at the Whitsunday Sailing Club 12:30pm-2:30pm.

Dr Lindsay Simpson is an award-winning Author, Investigative Journalist and Co-ordinator and Founder of the Master of Arts (Writing) and Bachelor of Multimedia Journalism at James Cook University, QLD Australia. Author of 11 books, she is based in the Whitsundays and we are thrilled she will deliver her brilliant workshops at the 2025 Whitsundays Writers Festival.
